Finally the World Cup reached quarter finals.
Two (2) fixtures played this midnight : France vs Germany and Brazil vs Columbia.
Germany created history by becoming the first team in FIFA World Cup which have marched into 4 semi-finals in a row, no team has ever done that before. Thanks to Hummels's header which saw Germany secured the 1-0 victory.
Good bye to Koscielny, Giroud and Sagna, Arsenal are proud of you. Now move on to support Germany, we still have Ozil, Podolski and Mertesacker in action for the semi-final.
With a place at semi-final secured, the Germans have their eyes fixed at Estadio Castelao, Foraleza because the winner of Brazil vs Columbia will be their opponents.
In the end, Brazil knocked Columbia out of the World Cup with score of 2-1. Brazilians were celebrating but not too long because what shocked the hosts was that Neymar is ruled out of the World Cup due to a fractured vertebra after being kneed at the back by Juan Zuniga. Is this a good news for Germany? I certainly think so.
But what more saddened is to see James Rodriguez of Columbia cried after the match, the young stars who has scored 6 goals in 5 matches for Columbia in the FIFA World Cup 2014. Oh not to worry, he is just 22 years old and is having bright future ahead. This defeat I am sure will make him stronger in future. Like people say, Columbian lost the match, but won the hearts of us all.
Two (2) more quarter finals on the way tomorrow midnight : Argentina vs Belgium and Netherlands vs Costa Rica.
Who will make it through to book the last 2 semi-final seats?
Hopefully Argentina and Netherlands so we could see Brazil vs Germany and Argentina vs Netherlands in the last 4.
Can't wait for them. Can't wait to be home to watch.
